For my slab project I did two characters from the Legend of Zelda series. The main character is Toon Link, a animated version of Link. The other character is an evil, mirror image of Toon Link Simply called Dark Toon Link. Sadly, in my rush out of the door in class I left behind the slabs before I could get a picture.
My final project was inspired by M.C Escher. A friend had done a piece inspired by him, so I decided to check him out. I researched his most famous pieces, and I came across his one "Relativity". It's the painting with the multiple staircases going in random directions. It inspired me to make a piece of art like those staircases. It consisted of the base of it having stairs that lead upwards, a staircase attached to the landing of the base that lead backwards and "up", and a tiny staircase that on the landing of the second one, lead upwards. I was pressed for time and limited with resources, so I decided upon making a half size project of what I wanted to originally.
My food specific project is a plate that is designed for neatness. It's a plate with a rim so it hold foods somewhat
For my lidded vessel, I got the idea to do and incense holder. My friend recently got an incense holder that had a really cool lid to it, that allowed the incense to escape, but also provided a means to a bit of safety. It accidently got broken, so I decided to make him a new one. He loves Batman, so I incorporated Batman into this project. I cut out the Batman symbol for the holes in the lid, and I glazed it accordantly. I glazed the outside black, with a yellow inside, and I made the Batman symbols in the inside with black glaze, to give it a shadow effect as if the holes are making the symbols.
